I don't think you have much to worry about since they should be fixed for the next gen. One thing you can do is to wait 1 year after the release to get your sedan. Most problems appear in the first year so by the time you get yours, most if not all of those issues should be fixed.

The G80 is the same as the current gen, so this response does not make sense

Sometimes people get the wrong idea with recalls. Yes there was a problem, but the recall means that they caught it and are fixing it. It would be worse if the problem goes on and on and they don't catch it or don't have a fix for it.

I think it's still okay to proceed with getting one. Just make sure you look into how they take care of customers in situations like this, that can make all the difference.
