Most if not every state in the united states requires (by law) headlights to be on when windshield wipers are activated.

YET the $60,000 Genesis and other foreign made vehicles do not offer this feature. Are these designers sleeping or just
not safety conscious. This feature is on my 2011 Ford (USA) truck and was on every American car I have purchased
since the very early 21st Century ......

Love to hear more about this.

Cost cutting is bound to happen with automakers like Genesis and simplifying production too much comes with these drawbacks.

This is something that Ford has specifically decided to implement in their vehicles and there are a lot of brands that don't have this tech as standard. I would imagine that the autolamp function would probably engage your headlights in most instances where its raining.

You might have some luck in asking your dealer if its an option that can be turned on in the dealer menu.

From my time working in dealerships I discovered that automakers turn on/off certain features for a range of reasons from market to market.

No headlights with wipers

I have more than "badgered" the dealer as well as Genesis USA. They have come up with more excuses than "Carter has pills"

The last excuse they sent contained 7 reasons why they did not implement the feature.

Me being me, I found 5 of those reasons absolutely ludicrous and put the debate back in their hands.

They have not answered me ..... I must have really hit a sore spot ....

Probably the best way to sum it up is Genesis knows current G80 values and overall consumer interest will fall off a cliff when the new one is out

Differences between them are day and night.

Did they mention if this was something that was being changed for the updated model that's currently in development? I don't think its something they could retrofit.

the G80 and G90 absolutely have auto headlights with wipers.

I have a G80 sport and the auto headlights with wipers works fine.

It requires the headlights be in auto mode and 4 full consecutive swipes of the wipers before the lights come on.

If you are using the Auto mode for the wipers and they do a swipe, stop, swipe, stop and don't do 4 full in a row consecutive swipes, then the headlight won't come on. if you are in low or high mode after 4 swipes the lights come on.
