My problem is a intermittent problem with my 2016 G80's sound system, where upon starting the engine there's no audio whatsoever on the radio, navigation system, CD player, USB music etc etc.

If the engine / ignition is shut down and the vehicle left idle for around 30 minutes and then restarted, the audio resumes and the related systems work correctly.

The Dealer has performed a system update, but the intermittent audio problem remains.

Any ideas or solutions most welcome.

PS vehicle is still under factory warranty.

Maybe a connection somewhere behind the dash has gotten loose? Odds are its a software related problem, but other than waiting for a new update, I don't know what you could do in the interim. Have you tried a hard reset by disconnecting the battery?

Sorry for the delayed reply. I don't know yet as I'm waiting on the the Dealer to get the part, but as everything they do tends to take all day, I suspect this will be no different.

I guess if you were in the U.S. parts would be quicker to come by.

Hopefully this issue and others you experienced doesn't result in you going to another brand in the future, although I can understand. A new G80 is out now, so maybe things will begin to change?

Update......as Hyundai has taken the decision to open dedicated Genesis Dealerships in Australia, I decided to contact Genesis Motors Australia re an opinion re this problem.

I spoke with Peter Quinn who was not only knowledgeable but helpful. He was of the opinion that it is a faulty amplifier that's the proplem, not the head unit.

Peter contacted my local Hyundai Dealership and had a new amplifier delivered to their Service Dept. in time for a swap-over at my scheduled service there.

So far...no further no sound problems.

Thanks Peter!!!
