Would the new G80 have a similar paint pallet to the current Hyundai Genesis? I was browsing the Hyundai site when I cam across it. Most likely the new G80 will get a special paint but for now, anyone interested can get a sense of what we could see on the new G80 at the Hyundai site here: https://www.hyundaicanada.com/Pages/showroom/showroom.aspx?model=genesis

I'm hoping they keep the Empire State Gray as an option.

typically brands have a few colors that live on a few generations or more, so there's a good chance especially as the current genesis has colors that are quite modern, no reason to phase some of them out as yet

Genesis seems to be going for the more muted colors to keep things classy and I approve. Even their Pamplona Red is a shade or two darker than most red paints out there and I like it. Gives it a more timeless look.

Some of the colors look very similar. I like the Parisian Grey but it doesn't look like the swatch when it is shown in the car.

As per usual i'll be looking out for what I can wrap it in, even if I keep it as simple as a matte film over my favorite stock color.

A body like the G80 would look very nice in matte. Something about matte just brings out the luxury in some cars. Still need to see the color swatches in real life since it could differ greatly form what you see on screen but the paint configurator is a good starting point.

Which paint choice will you got matte with?

I am gonna have to see some of these in person before making a decision. I just don't think I actually know what any of them look like.

G80's are already out, so fortunately seeing one at a dealer won't be hard at all. You might even want to look at the Equus just to see what Hyundai can do at its best and then what you're getting in a G80, who knows, you might have a greater appreciation for the G80 after seeing what the Equus is like.

They'll usually have paint samples you can look at if the color you want isn't on showroom floors.

There's even the chance to see some of those colors on current models aside from the Genesis since car makers typically have colors they'll keep for a long time and share among a number of models. Sometimes seeing it on a car rather than as a sample in a book or a pallet makes all the difference.

Maybe Genesis will even come out with a new paint color specific to that marque since they are separating from Hyundai. A color to commemorate a new beginning.

Unlike other brands they won't have to leverage in that direction with options since they're already winning on value. However what they should do is make you pay extra for those new colors and/or make it part of some special package. Yeah that sucks for us but its practical and realistic, happens with many other brands.


Any examples of colors you would want to see?

Almost every vehicle that we'd be looking at has those colors that cost more. An extra $295-$495 or something in that sense.
