Anyone have a fix for the 3G Connected Services ending in December? It seems Genesis has NO plan to fix it!

One would think a replacement cellular modem would be created. I mean the newer models probably have a similar connector that could be made to work. It is hard to believe that part of the system could not be retro fit. I bet there is no money in it for them and they don't care about their previous customers.

Has anyone tried Verizon's HUM - sounds like it will fix SOME of the problems?

Yeah, disappointing Genesis is not fixing this. I don't use the connected services that much since the startup takes about a min to start and my previous car a 2018 S90 started up about 15 seconds after I sent the signal. Also, I don't like that the G80 sport puts on the hazards after starting
I wish they can change it to start up with the key fob like my Honda Pilot!!! Keep it simple stupide

Does anyone know what will still work after Dec.?
Not sure what work through your phones Bluetooth and what goes through the dieing cellular connection.
Will -
1. Pressing the bottom on the mirror still provide directions?
2. Will you be able to send directions to the cars navigation system if your phone is in the car?
3. Will Android Auto still work?
4. SOS button?
5. Emergency collusion detection message sending?
Things I am pretty sure will not work:
Remotely unlock, lock, start, stop, set AC/Heat, or get the status of your car.
Get the location of your car.
Send directions to your car if you are not in it.
What we need is a 3g to 5g signal converter! Plug it into the 12v port or USB port or hard wire it!

Genesis will not respond to my emails or phone calls. I'll never purchase a vehicle from Genesis or the parent company Hyndai.

Called Genesis and was told my 2021G80 would not be affected. Only older(?) models are going to change

What services are connected through your cellphone and what go through the cars modem.
Is the ability to press the button on the mirror and ask for place or location still going to work (i.e.it uses you cellphone Bluetooth connection) or stop working because it uses the cars modem?
What about the ability to send an address to the car via the Genesis phone app.. Will that stop working?
Remote start obviously will no longer work.

I took your advice and was able to locate a DroneMobile local dealer and they can do the job. The cost is $500 installed and then there is the monthly fee which can be as low as $3.99/month. Seems like Genesis could have come up with a fix like this and I intend to find out why they haven't. Great car; lousy car company.

Does DroneMobile allow you to push the button on the mirror and ask for directions?
I’m not sure. Google them and check out the monthly app choices.
