so has anyone tried removing your floor mats? Those anchors are pretty secure and I'm almost afraid to pull too hard and break them! Do you just pull really hard? Saw this online and cracked up laughing!

That's literally all it is to remove the button in mats. You grasp the corner, and lift with some decent force lol.

The anchors were designed to handle the pulling you'll be doing to remove the mats so go nuts and pull.

New member here. Sort of related - What are you all doing for all weather mats in your G80? Genesis doesn't have them available? (picking up Patagonia Blue / Ivory Ultimate H trac this week)

actually I was wrong..they are not typical anchors, but rather hooks..you don't pull them..just lift the mat from the front toward you and the mat unhooks...glad I didn't pull and break them..

Now that would have been an issue, thanks for clearing that up. I've seen a lot of people yank on those and pop em' right out. Not fun lol.

Sometimes you end up breaking those clips much like the same style of clip that's used for other parts of the vehicle. Best thing to do is to buy extra clips just in case because it can be a PITA having broken clips and mats moving around because of that.

To clarify, yes Hyundai has all weather mats for the G80, I bought them about 1 month ago.

The clips are not the same as what's used on other parts of the vehicle. They don't really break that easily. The anchors with the hooks are extremely durable, the push clip ones are a bit more finnicky.

The hook anchors don't brake that easily at all, the push clips can sometimes be finnicky though.

Its still operate the same way, they have prongs at the bottom that expand in the area it sits in, pulling to hard can break them. Even more likely of that happening with clips that have aged. Seen it happen in my dealership days. I think some floor mat kit come with extra clips just in case.

Then it was probably rare occurrences as my dealership days, I've seen it once and that was on a nearly 15 year old Caravan.

Either way, once you aren't monkeying around with your feet on the mats and remove and re-install them with common sense when you're cleaning the vehicle, you shouldn't have any issues at all with them.

I just checked the Genesis website. The all weather mats are made by Weather Tech. They are about $20 cheaper buying directly from Weather Tech than going with Genesis for the same mats.

Just make sure you guys get the protector kit so those mats stay looking fresh for a while and remain easy to clean
