AC stops working - SOLUTION! Run the AC on "AUTO." Adjust the temp as you prefer. 2018 Genesis G80. I was so frustrated like everyone else. This solved my problem. Let me know if this works on your Genesis G80.

My 2018 G80 has the same issue. The Thermister (evaporator temperature probe) has been replaced and it corrected SOME of the problems. The dealer has had the car again now for almost 3 weeks. They ran a dye test thru the system, found the evaporator was leaking (and they thought that was problem after thermister was replaced}. They are replacing the evaporator which requires removing the dash. All covered under warranty. Will post if this repair corrects the problem once I have the car back and have taken a road trip with it. Hope this helps.

Do you or anyone know what the fix is for this issue? i have taken this to the dealership 3 times and they think i'm crazy. I've told them you have to drive the car for over 30 minutes before the air stops blowing. Anyone know a fix for this?
Thanks,
Jeremy

I have a 2019 G80 and have had trouble with AC and heating.
Summer time AC would close vents after about 1 1/2 hrs. Could hear fan running but vents would not open in Auto and manual. Have taken it to dealer twice and problem uncertain - winter arrived. ( was difficult to have dealer reproduce problem). Thermister was replaced.
Winter arrived and noticed vents would not open if temp below about 40. Took in to dealer. They could reproduce problem and found a way to open vents by turning Auto off and going to Climate control and opening vents that way.
Auto does not work in cold and I am not sure AC issue is solved.
I think there is a problem with climate control.
Regard to all,
Roddy

I have experienced this problem on long trips during hot summer weather. Air stops coming out of the vents even though you can hear the fan blowing. It appears that the evaporator freezes over preventing air from the fan to blow over the cold coils and out the vents. If I turn the a/c off for half an hour it returns to normal operation. The dealer has never been able to duplicate the problem so not repair has been accomplished. I have read that a bad thyristor on the evaporator allows the coils to freeze over but my dealer has refused to change this part because he cannot duplicate the problem. I’m sure that just as soon as the warranty runs out the will know just how to fix this problem.
