I put on air conditioner for first time and noticed that if you choose AUTO then the a/c button light turns off? It only will stay on if you just press the a/c button and then choose a speed (low to high)..assume a/c is still on when using AUTO and it's cooling to the desired temp you've picked, right?

That's weird.. in my other cars, as soon as Auto was selected, it would immediately turn on A/C whether or not you were in heat or cold.

If you AUTO button it doesn't mean that it's gonna turn on A/C. What if you press AUTO and then A/C on, will it work?

Yes, that is how it works. If you change fan speed or push A/C you go into manual mode. The system is designed for you to set your desired temp and it take car of it. It also has a sensor that automatically keeps your windshield demisted.
