Twin-Turbo Genesis G80 Sport

The new Hyundai Genesis G80 Sport will in fact be coming with the same 3.3-Liter Twin-Turbo V6 engine found in the G90. Producing 365 horsepower along with 376 pound-feet of torque. Eight speed automatic transmission will be standard on both models. The standard G80 will get the usual 3.8-Liter V6 engine that produces slightly less. 311 horsepower and 293 pound-feet of torque.

Apparently US consumers will be able to opt for the 5.0-Liter V8 engine as well. That pushes out a quite impressive 420 horsepower with 383 pound-feet of torque.

Liking this a lot since even at a lower level without having to go to N Performance levels we can possibly extract more power, maybe make it into what should be the 'N-Sport' equivalent to Lexus's F-Sport, BMW's M_ _ _ and the list goes on.

For sure, I can only imagine how much power we can get out of the 3.3 when tuned properly. Squeeze out more power and possibly even make it more fuel efficient

If Genesis is providing these more powerful options for the G80, wouldn't people for for those trims instead of the G90?

You know, I actually didn't take that into consideration. The only difference I really see is the G90 looks more executive. Other than that if their power plants are the same.. it could potentially deter sales for either/or

I had the '16 G80 and liked the '18 Sport look. But something makes the '18 not as jaw dropping as the '16 .. I once had the heads up screen in another car and loved it. Once the G80 Sport came out with the heads up and the front end look, That was enough to get me to switch. I'm Not getting the nodes I did with the '16 G80..?????????????

Did like how the '16 G80 told you what gear in the transmision you were in though not in the '18 G80 Sport.

Yeah that's the unfortunate part about automakers, as new year models come out, they aren't always "better" than the last.
Hopefully the new generation G80 changes that.
